Faculty Vacancy Announcement
The Department of Art and Design is seeking an active artist and experienced educator with expertise in studio art. The successful candidate will teach foundation and advanced studio classes in at least two areas, which may include 2‑D design, drawing, painting, and color theory.
Responsibilities include:
Participation in departmental affairs, including curriculum development, course assessment, accreditation, and program reviews.
Engagement in college committees and High‑Impact Practices such as Writing Intensive and Service Learning courses.
Ongoing creative and scholarly activities required for tenure and promotion.
Academic advisement and assistance for students during the semester and as part of the registration process.
Active involvement in student activities and learning practices within the college and the larger community. Evening or weekend teaching schedule may be required.
Employment will begin in January 2026.

Qualifications
MFA, MDes, PhD, or equivalent terminal degree in Art, Design, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to teach and support a diverse student body through equitable and inclusive pedagogical practices, including engagement with neurodivergent learners.
Experience teaching across multiple studio areas or disciplines.
Record of leadership and meaningful contribution to departmental service, including administrative and organizational responsibilities.
Experience designing measurable learning outcomes and leading course‑and‑program‑level assessment or accreditation processes.
Committed to mentoring and advising students, including providing professional practice guidance.
Active record of exhibitions, scholarly/artist presentations, or other public‑facing creative or research projects.
3–5 years of undergraduate teaching experience.
Compensation and Benefits
$86,741 – $94,909, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
