Senior Design Lead – Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
The Senior Design Lead plays a pivotal role in overseeing multiple design teams to establish organizational design standards and drive innovation in the design process. This position is critical in ensuring that design efforts significantly impact the achievement of business objectives by fostering user‑friendly, intuitive, and high‑quality design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Utilize Design For Manufacturability (DFM) principles and PCB design tools to optimize product designs, ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.
Lead and mentor a team of designers, providing technical guidance and strategic direction to ensure the delivery of high‑quality design solutions that align with business objectives.
Present and communicate design concepts effectively to stakeholders, playing a vital role in shaping the overarching design vision and strategy.
Conduct research and analysis on industry trends and emerging technologies in design and manufacturing, driving innovation and excellence throughout the design process.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate feedback and ensure designs meet usability and functional requirements, enhancing overall product quality.
Skill Requirements
Strong proficiency in Design For Manufacturability (DFM) principles and practices.
In‑depth knowledge of PCB design tools and methodologies.
Excellent understanding of user experience principles and design standards.
Proven ability to lead design teams and manage complex design projects.
Solid analytical skills to evaluate design effectiveness and manufacturability.
Certification
Certification in Design For Manufacturability or related fields is optional but valuable.
Additional relevant certifications in product design or engineering are recommended.
Compensation and Benefits
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance‑based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits, subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need‑based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
