SCOPE OF WORK
The Graphic Designer leads the creative design efforts for the company, ensuring all visual content aligns with the brand's identity and strategic goals. This role involves collaborating with various departments to produce high-quality designs for both digital and print media, managing projects from concept to completion, and mentoring Marketing Coordinators on design.
The Senior Graphic Designer supports team leadership and guides design strategy, ensuring brand consistency while delivering innovative, high-impact marketing campaigns.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Uses Gaylor Values as tools to carry out all job responsibilities
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly adapt to new software, including Gaylor’s internal systems
Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics
Extensive knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout design
Adaptable to changing priorities and fast-paced environments
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Collaborative team player with a proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams, including executive leadership and C-suite stakeholders
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides strategic leadership across design and branding initiatives, ensuring alignment with company vision
Provides innovative design solutions and support for various projects
Develops engaging visual content for social media, websites, and other digital platforms
Designs and writes copy for company and customer newsletters
Creates visual aids and presentations for company meetings and events
Designs impactful pitch presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Leads creative development and design for national advertising and marketing campaigns, ensuring brand consistency and alignment
Designs branded materials across digital platforms, websites, communications, and client-facing touchpoints supporting corporate branding initiatives
Leads end-to-end event branding and design, stage visuals, motion graphics, and all signage and promos, ensuring a cohesive and visually compelling experience that aligns with the company’s brand identity and strategic goals
Captures and edits high-quality photographs for various marketing and communication purposes
Oversees design projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery
Provides guidance and mentorship to Marketing Coordinators in regard to design, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment
Stays updated on industry trends to inform design strategies
Collaborates with clients to understand goals and deliver design solutions, aligning vision and expectations
Ensures all designs meet the highest performing standards of quality and accuracy
Leads concept design and implementation for facility branding across all markets, ensuring a consistent and impactful physical brand presence
WORKING CONDITIONS
May require working in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) depending on job location and/or time of year
Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (port-o-lets)
Must have required hand tools at all times while at work site (waist tool belts can weigh up to 30 lbs.)
Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime, as required, on short notice
Must be able to work in noisy environments
Must be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situations
Must work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasks
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, safety harness, etc.) when required
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
Possess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected)
Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure, even if only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but deemed safe for use
Ability to work while constantly moving on one's feet
Ability to reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
Ability to work while sitting or standing for long periods
Must be able tolift up to 20 pounds at times
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalency
EXPERIENCE
Five or more years in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects
Web design and HTML/CSS experience, preferred
