Job Summary

KCTV5 is seeking a Sunday morning show anchor and MMJ. A successful candidate will, first and foremost, lead all editorial content on Sunday mornings and help decide and execute content decisions for the Sunday crew.

Duties / Responsibilities

• Anchor Sunday morning newscast.
• Gather and report general assignment lead stories in multiple newscasts as an MMJ.
• Shoot, write, edit, and post stories, pictures, and videos to serve our audience on all platforms.
• Connect with the audience.
• Employ strong research skills and critical thinking to dig deeper into incoming news tips.
• Develop sources within the community to gain unique insight and reports on important and impactful issues.
• Appear on air and coordinate live shots.
• Work well under pressure in deadline‑driven situations.
• Work with a sense of immediacy and on a team while exhibiting sound news judgment and ethics.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field.
• Preferred: 2‑3 years of MMJ/anchoring experience.
• Exceptional news judgment.
• Professional knowledge of broadcast news operations.
• Significant experience and prowess in creating strong digital content.
