Invariant is seeking a dynamic creative strategist to join our growing Strategic Communications and Public Affairs team. What You’ll Do

  • Ideation & Concept Development
    • Collaborate with design and account teams to develop content concepts that support client’s strategic goals and reach the DC stakeholder/policymaker audience.
    • Develop innovative paid campaign strategies and activations that support client’s broader messaging framework.
    • Contribute to pitch decks and new business proposals with fresh, insight‑driven ideas.
  • Thought Leadership & Content Creation
    • Produce high‑quality content across digital platforms, including web, social, and paid media.
    • Write content to align with client goals, audience behaviours, and platform best practices.
    • Review and refine content created by others to ensure clarity, consistency, and brand narrative alignment.
  • Social & Paid Digital Strategy
    • Review and optimise social content calendars and paid media assets for strategic alignment.
    • Partner with media vendors to ensure paid campaigns are targeted, measurable, and on‑brand.
    • Analyse performance data to inform ongoing strategy and content refinement.
  • Client Engagement
    • Present strategies and concepts to clients with clarity and confidence.
    • Build trust and gain buy‑in through thoughtful communication and strategic insight.
    • Act as a strategic partner to clients, helping them navigate digital opportunities and challenges.
  • Additional Opportunities
    • Contribute to brand development initiatives, ensuring consistency across touchpoints.
    • Ideate and support execution of out‑of‑home (OOH) campaigns and experiential activations.

Who You Are

  • 4+ years in digital strategy, content strategy, or related roles.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Understanding of paid digital media and performance metrics.
  • Experience in an agency environment and working with cross‑functional teams.
  • Proven ability to develop and pitch creative concepts.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, trends, and analytics.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Comfort with tools like Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, or similar.
  • Experience with branding and OOH activations is a plus.
  • Background in journalism, copywriting, or creative strategy is a plus.

The target salary range for this role is $100,000–150,000 USD annually. The base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and market data.

The ideal candidate would be based in Washington, DC or New York City. Salary commensurate with experience. The firm offers unlimited vacation time, generous health care and retirement benefits, and advancement opportunities.
