Content Development Coordinator

Under the direct supervision of the Information and Referral Service Manager, the Content Development Coordinator supports the Washington Virtual Immigrant Resource Center (WVIRC). The position is integral within the WVIRC team and works closely with Information Specialists in publishing content through digital and other diverse channels based on need and responding to clients’ information needs.

Major Responsibilities
  • Ensure content is accurate, complete, easy to understand and engaging
  • Collaborate on, edit written and multimedia content built by the WVIRC team
  • Define, implement, and monitor digital advertising campaigns
  • Publish relevant and appropriate content on the WVIRC digital platforms
  • Monitor traffic and other feedback emanating from the WVIRC platform
  • Contribute to the communication strategy in collaboration with the Information & Referral Services Manager
  • Use the translation‑management software and other tools to prepare content for publication
  • Continuously ensure that editorial content is up to date
  • Review and track metrics to adapt messaging and resources, based on the engagement of users and the feedback provided by visitors to the website and social media sites
  • Continuously monitor web and social media performance indicators, review, and track metrics within Zendesk, flag criticalities, and propose improvements to the communication and marketing strategy
  • Work with the Information Technology team to resolve technical issues across platforms
  • Contribute to drafting reports on WVIRC content

Success Factors

The ideal Content Development Coordinator is extremely proactive, detail‑oriented, and organized. They value accurate and error‑free reporting, are self‑directed and reliably complete tasks, and are diplomatic and able to work with a range of peers to gather and verify information. They are tech‑ and social media‑savvy and quick to learn new tools.

Job Requirements
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience in multimedia journalism, digital communications, or a relevant field
  • Minimum 2+ years of reporting, writing, and editing experience, including for online platforms and social media
  • Good understanding of the digital landscape, social media platforms and what makes digital content work
  • Knowledge of graphic design software and photo editing
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience using CMS
  • Knowledge of immigration and refugee issues; previous work experience in the immigration field desired
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence
  • Ability to work independently with remote management
  • Fluency in English required, proficiency in Spanish required
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross‑culturally with empathy, humility, and confidentiality
Compensation

Pay Range: $29.00 – $36.00 per hour (U.S.‑based candidates). Ranges are based on the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
