Senior Web/Graphic Designer

We are open to supporting 100% remote work anywhere within the US.* We’re looking for a star designer who can turn heads and make people go “Wow, who made that?” If you are a creative pioneer with strategic thinking and killer design skills to persuade, you might be the senior web designer we’re looking for.

Responsibilities

  • Support public‑ and private‑sector clients tackling issues such as HIV/AIDS, disaster preparedness, human trafficking, climate change, child welfare, and more.
  • Design web and mobile experiences following best practices using Sketch, Figma, InVision, and Abstract.
  • Create complex visualizations for data‑driven projects.
  • Build interactive websites, apps, and email templates.
  • Produce social‑media graphics and collaborate with the motion‑design team to animate them.
  • Lead projects from planning to execution, managing multiple deliverables simultaneously.
  • Understand requirements to create engaging end‑to‑end experiences.
  • Present multiple concepts to clients and explain design thinking and reasoning.
  • Collaborate comfortably with writers, editors, motion‑graphics designers, UX designers, and front‑end / back‑end developers.
  • Share new ideas and trends with the wider creative studio team.
  • Work with the U.S. Government Web Design System (USWDS) and other component libraries such as Bootstrap or Foundation.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience designing for web and mobile environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in visual arts, computer science, or equivalent related field.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Self‑motivated to work independently or within a team.
  • Proficient in providing and receiving constructive feedback in a collaborative setting.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand client business and solve problem areas.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with web accessibility and Section 508 compliance.

Preferred

  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, Acrobat, InDesign).
  • Experience with Sketch, Figma, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowing HTML/CSS is a plus.
