Job Title: Multimedia Journalist – WFSU Public Media
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Regular/Temporary: Regular
Full/Part Time: Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Research story ideas and sources.
• Report, write, edit, and produce stories for broadcast, web, and social media.
• Collaborate with the News Director and WFSU team to distribute information across our platforms—design and tailor content to the specific medium.
• Occasionally fill in as a host for on‑air programming.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Post‑high‑school education and experience may combine to equal six years.)
• A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver’s license or the ability to obtain one prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Experience in audio, digital and video production.
• Experience in writing and copy editing.
• Ability to understand and simplify complex issues.
• Experience producing long‑form, narrative journalism in broadcast and digital.
• Ability to adapt material to fit a variety of platforms—audio, print, social, and television.
• Preferred majors: Communications, English, Editing/Writing and Media, Journalism, Marketing and Advertising, Filmmaking.
