Library Assistant II – Tulsa Community College
Job Summary
Perform public service and clerical duties of a varied and complex nature in the operations of assigned area in the TCC Library.
Essential Duties
- Assist patrons at the information desk and online with finding resources and locating information.
- Assist with interviewing, training, scheduling, and overseeing daily work assignments of the Library Aide and Library Assistant I positions.
- Check out library materials to patrons, and may prepare overdue notices.
- Prepare new library materials.
- Keep up to date statistics.
- Organize the ordering, storage, and distribution of supplies and oversee the maintenance of machines, electronic devices, and other items used in the TCC Library.
- Ensure an orderly and welcoming study environment.
- Assist in library collection maintenance.
- Promote library resources and services.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED. Degree requirement may be substituted with equivalent work experience.
- 1 year training or experience in library operations, including assistance in locating information in print and electronically.
- Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to organize work and maintain accuracy.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer service experience.
