Library Assistant II – Tulsa Community College

Job Summary

Perform public service and clerical duties of a varied and complex nature in the operations of assigned area in the TCC Library.

Essential Duties

  • Assist patrons at the information desk and online with finding resources and locating information.
  • Assist with interviewing, training, scheduling, and overseeing daily work assignments of the Library Aide and Library Assistant I positions.
  • Check out library materials to patrons, and may prepare overdue notices.
  • Prepare new library materials.
  • Keep up to date statistics.
  • Organize the ordering, storage, and distribution of supplies and oversee the maintenance of machines, electronic devices, and other items used in the TCC Library.
  • Ensure an orderly and welcoming study environment.
  • Assist in library collection maintenance.
  • Promote library resources and services.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED. Degree requirement may be substituted with equivalent work experience.
  • 1 year training or experience in library operations, including assistance in locating information in print and electronically.
  • Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to organize work and maintain accuracy.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer service experience.
