Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Music Therapist based in New Port Richey, FL. The Music Therapist will design and implement music therapy sessions tailored to the developmental, emotional, and social needs of children and young adults.
Responsibilities
- Creating individualized treatment plans
- Facilitating both group and individual sessions
- Collaborating with educators and families
- Documenting progress
- Contributing to an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Supporting the mission of the Cathedral Arts Project by integrating music therapy into its arts education programs
Qualifications
- Expertise in Music Therapy, including designing and conducting evidence-based sessions that promote emotional, cognitive, and social development
- Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and the ability to work effectively with educators, parents, and partner organizations
- Proficiency in assessing individual needs and documenting therapeutic goals and progress
- Experience working with children and young adults, including those with diverse abilities and backgrounds
- Certification as a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and a degree in Music Therapy or a related field
- Passion for arts access, education, and empowering youth through creative expression
- Familiarity with therapeutic techniques and cultural sensitivity in a classroom setting
