Overview Intuit is looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our mobile team, shaping the future of the QuickBooks accounting app that empowers mobile‑only users to run their business through AI‑powered tools, payments, and financial management. As the owner of the mobile native design system, you will strengthen platform capabilities, innovate with delightful and durable end‑to‑end experiences, enable small businesses to achieve financial growth, and expand our global presence.

We offer a competitive compensation package with cash bonuses, equity rewards, and benefits. The expected base pay range for this position in the Bay Area is $179,500–$243,000.

Responsibilities

Apply mobile‑first, strategic thinking and deep platform knowledge to solve complex user problems with responsive, emotionally resonant design, including AI and agentic experiences on mobile.

Own and visualize end‑to‑end experiences, ensuring consistency of patterns, flows, and mental models. Lead key design initiatives from concept to delivery, creating wireframes, visual designs, prototypes, and interaction models informed by customer insights and platform capabilities.

Conduct customer research and ground decisions in research, behavioral data, market and industry insights.

Translate strategic goals into measurable design outcomes, advocating for accessibility, data personalization, and inclusive experiences. Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, marketing, and data scientists.

Leverage data and analytical tools to guide tests and innovations within design projects.

Mentor colleagues through design critiques, providing actionable feedback across interaction, visual, and motion design, and use facilitative leadership to drive stakeholder alignment and continuous learning.

Qualifications

9+ years of interface design experience delivering high‑volume, high‑profile, or award‑winning mobile products or experiences.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Product Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Deep understanding of native mobile interaction patterns, accessibility standards, and platform‑specific HIG/Material Design guidelines.

Proven ability to deliver elegant, data‑informed mobile experiences that balance user needs and business goals.

Expertise in user experience methods, innovation, ideation, storytelling, prototyping, design frameworks, concept visualization, problem‑framing, and design principles.

Experience leading and delivering product experiences from strategy through detailed execution, including layout, typography, iconography, color theory, and composition.

Experience delivering detailed interaction designs, cohesive visual design deliverables, and motion design for mobile is desired.

Ability to connect big picture goals with nuanced details of discrete elements.

Exemplary collaborative communication skills and facilitative leadership that raises the bar for positive change.

Strong portfolio demonstrating recent mobile design work.

Proficiency with industry leading design tools and AI/Gen AI platforms.

Location San Mateo, CA (Mountain View) – hybrid work model available.
