Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engineering Manager (Microsoft Copilot Studio experience required). Charlotte, North Carolina; Addison, Texas.

This position is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. The manager will develop a technology strategy, ensure solutions comply with applicable standards, promote design and engineering practices, and advocate Agile solution delivery. The role includes coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, and managing stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Builds and manages teams by informing workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees to address feedback and achieve performance goals.
Facilitates performance and career development through reviews, coaching, and development plans.
Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all risk, financial, and compliance policies are met.
Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads Communities of Practice.
Contributes to the technology strategy for the technical domain.
Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and resolves organizational impediments/blockers.
Ensures execution aligns with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders.
Responsible for 3rd‑party infrastructure and control engineering, management, and support of global services with regard to availability, connectivity, performance, compliance, and security.
Provides expert guidance on AI/LM architecture, development, and deployment best practices.
Responsible for 3rd level model development and design registration for productivity products containing AI and LMs.
Participates and oversees audits related to global AI/LM and machine learning products and services.
Applies deep understanding of Microsoft Azure AI services, including Copilot Studio, Copilot Chat, M365 Copilot, MS Defender, MS Purview, Enterprise Data Protection, and Azure Responsible AI.
Supports business and client group requirements for access and solution administration.
Defines test strategies for migrations and configurations to mitigate outages and loss of service.
Monitors and optimizes performance of AI solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and SLAs.
Assists in developing project plans and status updates.
Collaborates with project teams (Project Managers, Product Managers, System Administrators, Architects, Stakeholders) with high communication standards.
Writes and revises technical documents.
Works in detailed change management processes and configuration processes.
Identifies and mitigates potential risks associated with AI projects, including data privacy, security, and ethical considerations.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience managing high‑output data science or solution engineering teams.
7+ years of experience with AI/LLM and machine learning design, testing, implementation, evaluation, and maintaining robotics/automation services.
3+ years of knowledge with Microsoft, AWS, Google AI/LM technologies.
Strong proficiency in engineering solutions for highly regulated financial or healthcare industry platforms.
Knowledge of enterprise‑wide design concepts, test plan development, and implementation processes.
Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Cloud ecosystems (Azure, Purview, Defender, M365 Admin Center, etc.).
Working networking knowledge: DHCP, TCP/IP, WINS, subnetting, firewalls.
Experience creating engineering blueprints, detailed designs, author documents, and test plans.
Self‑starter, critical thinker with proven ability to handle granular requirements while seeing the big picture strategically.
Effective at time management to deliver quality solutions on time.
Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to shift and pivot with changing responsibilities.
Strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication; able to communicate effectively to senior leadership.
