Digital Marketing Coordinator
Full‑time | On‑site | Reports to: Manager, Social Media
About Us For more than 25 years, the Harris County–Houston Sports Authority (HCHSA) has served as the sports marketing and events agency for the City of Houston and Harris County, helping to position the region as one of the world’s premier destinations for sports.
HCHSA is responsible for bidding on and attracting major sporting events to the Houston area, as well as supporting the marketing and operations that bring them to life. These include the NCAA Final Four, College Football Playoff, CONCACAF Gold Cup, FIFA World Cup 26™️, World Baseball Classic, MLB and NBA All-Star Games, National Collegiate Rugby Championships, and the annual National Battle of the Bands.
From global championships to community events, HCHSA continues to elevate Houston’s reputation, drive economic impact, and showcase the city’s passion for sports on the world stage.
Position Summary The Digital Marketing Coordinator supports the organization’s marketing and communications initiatives through hands‑on digital execution. This entry‑level position assists with email marketing, website updates, social media content creation, and presentation/report development. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment focused on promoting Houston as a global sports destination.
Key Responsibilities
Build and schedule email campaigns and newsletters using approved platforms, ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement
Assist with website content updates, including event pages, news articles, graphics, and copy
Support the creation, editing, and scheduling of social media content across platforms, working in coordination with the marketing and communications team
Assist in the development of visual presentations and internal reports using templates and brand guidelines
Monitor performance metrics for email, web, and social channels, helping prepare basic analytics reports
Collaborate with internal teams to support marketing and event initiatives with timely and accurate digital content
Help maintain digital asset organization and campaign tracking tools
Stay informed on digital marketing trends and best practices to support continual learning and innovation
Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
1‑2 years of relevant experience in marketing, digital communications, or content creation preferred
Familiarity with email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact), website CMS platforms (e.g., Wix, WordPress), and social media tools
Skills & Competencies
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Basic understanding of digital marketing principles and platforms
Working knowledge of photo and video editing for social media channels
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
Highly organized and detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset
Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced, team environment
Passion for sports and enthusiasm for community and event‑based storytelling
