About the Role We are seeking an experienced Art Director specializing in motion media to lead the creative vision for video content that is authentic, journalistic, and emotionally engaging. This role is with a leading retailer known for its innovative approach to corporate communications and storytelling. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of creative professionals to produce video content that aligns with organizational goals and brand standards.
Job Description As an Art Director, you will:
Develop concepts for video projects that align with strategic objectives and target audiences.
Create compelling narratives, mood boards, and storyboards to convey thematic approaches and story arcs.
Define and maintain the creative vision for each project, ensuring consistency in style, tone, and quality.
Provide on‑set art direction, guiding talent, camera angles, lighting set‑ups, and compositions.
Oversee the editing process, making decisions on cuts, transitions, pacing, color, and sound.
Collaborate with designers, motion graphics editors, and other creative partners.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and staying within budget.
Local candidates preferred; on‑site presence required as needed.
Hours will flex between 20–30 per week, with potential for up to 40.
Periodic travel may be necessary for shoots.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4 years of professional experience in communications or related field.
Strong portfolio showcasing video concepts and execution styles.
Expertise in art direction, storyboarding, and video production.
Ability to craft engaging stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
In‑depth understanding of video production processes, including shoot direction, lighting, sound, and editing.
Proficiency in video editing software and visual effects tools.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred:
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
Familiarity with social media and enterprise communications.
