The Manager Solutions Design is responsible for supporting the growth of our Supply Chain Solutions offering by developing, designing, and winning new business. Key responsibilities include: Demonstrating an understanding of our customers’ businesses. Designing solutions that deliver financial value to our customers. Providing feasible designs aligned with customer needs. Assisting the pursuit team in shaping win plans consistent with our design. Developing sustainable designs aligned with Ryder’s operational and technical capabilities. Contributing to proposals that influence the customer’s decision to select Ryder. Supporting awarded business throughout the startup process, ensuring smooth transition of design and proposal assumptions to Operations and SCE CI resources. The Manager Solutions Design is either aligned by industry verticals or by design discipline and leads the new business pursuit team and individual opportunities. The Manager may direct subject matter experts (SMEs) or act as an independent team member to lead pursuit from start to finish through transition during startup. Key Activities

Manage or independently contribute to design discipline projects (transportation, warehousing, network design) or industry solutions (packaging, inbound manufacturing, integrated transportation, temp controlled). Mentor SD team members on modeling and design techniques to create, redesign, or optimize logistics networks. Act as a specific solution design specialist across multiple disciplines. Communicate design solutions clearly to internal stakeholders and clients. Use advanced analytical techniques to understand the business. Essential Functions

Lead cross‑functional teams to align solution development with win strategy. Maintain effective communication across all team members as solutions develop. Meet frequently with customers and cross‑functional bid response teams; support technical review presentations and design validation meetings. Calculate labor, equipment, facility, and expense requirements based on transportation and warehousing design assumptions; develop process flows, concepts of operations, and value propositions; coordinate with IT to develop system concepts; collaborate with Pricing and other functions to develop cost and pricing models. Develop proposals that articulate value propositions, Ryder differentiated value, and proposed solutions. Collaborate with Sales leaders to develop win strategy (research industry and customer, understand pain points and Ryder solutions to alleviate, understand competitive landscape to position Ryder to win, stakeholder analysis). Validate data, cleanse, profile, develop baseline, and define scenarios to model. Develop optimization and strategies aligned with objectives. Improve engineering tools and methodologies to ensure best industry practices. Use a consultative approach to projects that involves understanding customers’ pain‑points, developing and presenting solutions. Follow up on implementation, validating and modifying deployed processes to ensure they match the plan. Skills And Abilities

Superb data organization and cleansing skills. Advanced design application skills to analyze and design complex transportation and warehousing networks. Familiarity with simulation tools, transportation and warehouse management systems, ERPs, automation, MHE, visibility tools, and industry‑leading technologies. Ability to influence project teams using facts, statistics, and analytics. Comprehend complex supply chain and transportation solutions; segment design processes into manageable elements and steps. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; translate complex designs, concepts, and regulations into terms readily understood. Maintain professional relationships within all organizations; peers, work groups, customers, supervisors. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel, and PowerPoint expertise. Proficiency using AutoCAD to develop facility layouts that reflect proposed solutions. Warehouse Design expertise: extensive knowledge of warehouse management operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, warehouse types (ambient, temp control, layout/design, lean methods). Knowledge of material handling solutions and automation types (powered industrial truck applications, racking, storage solutions, packaging equipment, conveyor/sortation equipment, other automation). Knowledge of CAD, slotting, MOST, simulation software, warehouse management systems (e.g., Manhattan Scale), network design tools (e.g., Llamasoft), data analytics software (e.g., Tableau). Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering. Eight (8) or more years in the Warehousing and/or Manufacturing industry (industrial engineering, warehouse operations, operations). Travel

Pay Type: Salaried. Minimum Pay Range: $125,000. Maximum Pay Range: $140,000. Benefits Information
