Responsibilities

Collaborate with and support the designer in creating an apparel line that is attractive to the Tommy Bahama customer.

Partner with the Senior Designer to develop all categories of Men’s SMU/Men’s sweaters (color, pattern, styling, fabric selection).

Assist in researching trends for Tommy Bahama customers based on business strategies.

Develop CADs & colorations and prepare presentation boards as needed.

Create and update computer colorations, development cards, and technical specifications for sweaters, woven and knit styles, tops & bottoms.

Assist in sketching garment styling, updating as necessary for tech packs.

Collaborate with Tech Design to create and update BOMs & tech packs in PLM.

Work with cross‑functional teams to resolve production problems.

Order samples under guidance of the Senior Designer and communicate feedback to cross‑functional teams.

Gather and incorporate feedback from Merchandising & Sales regarding the Tommy Bahama customer.

Support SMU/Men’s Sweaters meeting presentations through effective logistics, meeting planning, and follow‑through.

Prepare and maintain CAD presentations for product assortment reviews.

Ensure cohesive line and best quality product availability.

Recognize team members as valuable contributors and listen to their feedback.

Coordinate and prepare presentations, samples, and executive accounts for SMU/Men’s Sweaters.

Seek new ways to improve design processes and share ideas with the design team.

Work efficiently while focusing on quality results.

Continuously improve personal and team skills.

Contribute to the success of the entire team and take responsibility for results.

Flexibly handle other duties as needed to support overall business.

Qualifications

1-3 years of previous design experience in an apparel company (highly desirable).

Experience in PLM or equivalent (highly desirable).

Computer graphics experience with strong Photoshop skills (highly desirable).

Advanced Illustrator skills (highly desirable).

Experience with the apparel design process from concept to product.

Knowledge of garment construction.

Ability to incorporate ideas into new designs, meet tight timelines, and adapt to changing trends.

“Can‑do” or “supportive” attitude that prioritizes team results over personal ego.

Ability to follow through on multiple simultaneous tasks.

Excellent time‑management skills; must adhere to the calendar.

Ability to travel occasionally to Tommy Bahama retail sites.

Pay Range $26-40.63 per hour
