Job Description The Manager, Public Relations, North & Central America is responsible for assisting in the implementation of a plan to create a positive image for the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts brand and its North and Central America hotels and resorts, with emphasis on earned media opportunities. The Manager produces mutually beneficial publicity programs, acts as liaison between the Fairmont brand, its properties and the US and Canadian media, and coordinates with brand PR agencies.
Compensation 80,000.00 - 115,000.00 Annual Salary plus bonus
Responsibilities
Assist in the development and execution of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ public relations programs and campaigns.
Lead day‑to‑day national media engagement in the North American market.
Project‑manage public relations initiatives across Fairmont’s NCA agencies, including events, press trips, press release review, and media mailers.
Maintain liaison with Fairmont hotels and resorts throughout the USA and Canada, providing support as requested.
Serve as hotel and resource support for content review, editing, and copywriting.
Liaise routinely with corporate PR, marketing teams, brands, properties, and agencies regarding Americas PR activities, events, and campaigns.
Oversee the implementation of global communications standards, templates, and SOPs within the Americas region.
Demonstrate positive ROI on PR activities and programs, including press monitoring, reporting, and analysis for the Americas region.
Qualifications
4–5 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector.
Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on writing and editing.
Familiarity with the travel and luxury industries.
Excellent knowledge of tactical planning for and execution of PR activities.
Proven competency in problem solving, relationship building, and project management.
Innovative and strategic mindset.
Self‑motivated team player who is flexible and capable of handling multiple projects and tight deadlines effectively.
Degree from an accredited university in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
Excellent command of the English language is a must; the ability to speak another North American language is desirable.
Must be able to work daily at Fairmont’s prestigious Midtown Manhattan office; this position is in‑person only and remote partnerships are not considered.
Visa Requirements Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the country to which you are applying.
