What will you be doing:

Implements the interior design standards that set the quality of the spaces where Cedars‑Sinai (CS) works and delivers care. Ensures that the interior spaces are in alignment with the quality set for the project.

Responsible for supporting medium to large‑scale projects and leading small‑scale projects from conception to completion.

Maintains online furniture catalog and materials library and conducts regular product and material research.

Initiates Project Start‑up with oversight of Sr. Interior Designer, defining scope, budget, schedule, and quality including project parameters, approach, and identifying potential risks.

Evaluates client/customer and associated space requirements and makes appropriate design recommendations as needed.

Develops interior design recommendations including proposed color and material scheme, furniture layout, furniture selection, and scope of work for review and approval.

Creates Design Documentation for non‑permitted projects including floor plans, elevations, section details, material specifications, equipment plans, furniture plans, and furniture specifications.

Provides input in the development of move plans, phasing, and space activation based on furniture reconfiguration, delivery, and space readiness.

Reviews consultant and vendor’s design recommendation to ensure compliance with campus and system standards.

Fosters collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a cohesive design and seamless transition from design to construction.

Sets end‑user expectations and maintains alignment with approved scope, schedule, budget, and quality at all times, evaluating, analyzing, and mitigating potential risks.

Works in close collaboration with the furniture vendor and FPD‑C team to manage the existing furniture inventory system.

Qualifications Experience Requirements:

Five (5) plus years of experience in commercial workplace and healthcare design projects.

Two (2) plus years of experience in Healthcare Interior Designer or Healthcare Project Management.

Facilities experience is a plus (ADA, Building Codes, Knowledgeable of OSHPD).

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.

Certification for Interior Design (CID), preferred.

National Council of Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ), preferred.
