About the Position We are looking for a
Global Digital Communications and Social Media Director
to join the Public Affairs & Communication team, reporting directly to the Marelli Chief Communications Officer. This role is located in Southfield, MI and is a hybrid position.
Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
Develop and transform Marelli’s global digital communication and social media strategy that aligns with business and communication objectives.
Determine optimal channel mix and platform presence, balancing organic and paid content, and proactively test new platform features and trends.
Translate business and brand objectives into actionable, stakeholder‑centric social and digital strategies that align with marketing, communications, HR and product goals.
Partner cross‑functionally to ensure a comprehensive, aligned external communication approach.
Build Marelli’s digital newsroom capability, supporting proactive storytelling, executive visibility and thought leadership.
Content and Storytelling Excellence
Lead global content planning and editorial calendar development in collaboration with internal partners.
Drive high‑quality content creation—including copy, visual, short‑form video—to enhance Marelli’s brand, engage stakeholders and support recruitment and business goals.
Source and curate visual‑first, social‑first content capturing behind‑the‑scenes and innovation stories worldwide.
Optimize multimedia content to best practices of each unique social media channel and the digital newsroom.
Analytics, Performance, Optimization
Set up and manage social campaigns and channels to enable performance tracking across owned and paid media.
Leverage social and digital analytics tools to deliver actionable performance reports.
Create and deliver executive‑ready insights and dashboards.
Demonstrate and articulate the business value of social and digital efforts through measurable KPIs, engagement data and strategic reporting.
A/B test content to optimize performance and incorporate learnings into future production.
Perform social media listening to better understand key audience segments.
Develop quantitative and qualitative insights to share with stakeholders and inform future content strategy.
Governance, Training & Internal Enablement
Build and implement governance frameworks and social media guidelines across regions and businesses to ensure global alignment.
Enable regional teams and stakeholders through training, templates and strategic support, fostering a "social/digital‑first" culture.
Vendor & Budget Management
Own the vendor procurement process for social media, negotiate agency scopes, contracts and deliverables to maximize value while maintaining strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
Qualifications You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in digital communications, emphasizing social media strategy and analytics.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful digital communication campaigns.
Expertise in advanced analytics tools to inform and drive digital strategy.
Strong storytelling abilities with an acute understanding of digital content creation and dissemination.
Customer service‑oriented: ensure rapid response to social media inquiries with a customer‑first attitude.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, engaging stakeholders at all levels.
Automotive, tech or manufacturing industry experience is a plus.

Successfully develop and implement a global digital communications strategy that enhances external audience engagement and aligns with business objectives.
Demonstrate measurable improvement in communication strategies through data‑driven insights and optimized content delivery.
