Summary : The Web Content Specialist, under the direction of the Manager of Web Content, creates, reviews, edits, and assists in producing web content that supports and increases efforts to fulfill the mission of the Office of Marketing and Communications and the university. Projects also include developing, deploying, and analyzing web-based marketing solutions for the university and campus partners.

Duties & Responsibilities
Assist Manager of Web Content in carrying out the web content strategy.
Uphold East Texas A&M’s brand guidelines for web writing.
Edit, publish, and maintain WordPress webpages for accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines.
Communicate directly with stakeholders to develop, update and revise content.
Educate stakeholders on the website maintenance process and brand guidelines.
Write effective calls‑to‑action to convert visitors.
Write effective SEO content for blogs, websites and social media accounts.
Review and revise content.
Identify powerful keywords to drive the most valuable traffic.
Analyze keywords and SEO techniques used by competitors.
Compile and present SEO guidelines.
Develop link‑building strategies.
Research and report on best practices for web publications.
Foster relationships with campus partners and key persons to create relevant and accurate marketing collateral.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Prior experience in web content writing, marketing and/or content editing; prior experience working in a university setting with educational professionals.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Associated Press, Chicago Manual of Style or similar style guides; proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational, time‑management and analytical skills.
Ability to: think creatively and strategically; multitask and work cooperatively with others; present information clearly and concisely; work within a project‑management system.
Licensing/Professional Certifications: None.

Preferred Education/Skills/Experience
Master’s degree in a related field.
Four or more years of position‑related professional experience.
Experience in a higher education setting.
Experience working in the Teamwork project management system or a similar system.
Supervision Of Others
Assists with training and supervising student workers and graduate assistants as needed.
