Primary Responsibilities
Work on a team with other project engineers on the detailed design of local roadway/highway design, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, storm/sanitary sewer design, site grading, preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans (including design of post‑construction stormwater management and sediment & erosion controls), utility design, permitting, and coordination with regulatory agencies and other design disciplines.
Take responsibility for alignment & profile, geometrics, drainage, develop plans, specifications, and construction estimates.
Provide assistance with the creation and submission of technical reports, specifications, and calculations.
Work in a production role on design‑build projects to coordinate design packages, track quality control reviews, and ensure the project stays on schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
MS/BS in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
Candidate has EIT and is on track for NY or NJ PE (candidates hired without their EIT will be titled “Civil/Highway Designer”).
Experience with NYSDOT, NYSTA, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, NJDOT, and/or NJTA projects is preferred.
Microsoft Office experience required.
Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preference for candidates who reside locally in the metro NY/NJ/CT area.
Position can be in New York, NY; Newark, NJ; or White Plains, NY.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, familiarity with and demonstrated experience in highways and roads engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3D.

Estimated Compensation: $65,625 – $100,750 (based on skills, experience, education, and geographic location).
