Technology and Multimedia Production Coordinator
UNC Charlotte seeks a Technology and Multimedia Production Coordinator to manage and oversee technology lending, training, and support services for the UNC Charlotte community. The incumbent will directly support students, faculty, and staff on a variety of technology and multimedia equipment and services, including media production and presentation support.
Primary Purpose Position The Technology and Multimedia Production Coordinator provides high‑level consultation and training to clients of technology and media–based systems, including individual, group, and classroom training sessions both in person and remotely. The role also manages the day‑to‑day operations of technology service points, documents activities, supports hardware and digital applications, and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with a variety of users. The position includes supervision of a staff of temporary and student employees.
Minimum Education/Experience Required Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school and one (1) year in a technology field related to this position’s role. Computer coursework may be substituted year‑for‑year for required experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced level requires an additional one year of experience.
Essential Job Duties
Supports Area 49 spaces and services, particularly the Area 49 Desk, EZ Video Studios, and Multimedia Lab
Troubleshoot and provide ongoing support for Area 49 technologies in collaboration with OneIT, the Learning Space Technology team, Security, and vendors
Conduct individual, group, and classroom instruction, and workshops on technologies, digital applications, and tools, including Adobe tools (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Audition), Final Cut Pro, iMovie, and more
Conduct technology consultations for current students, faculty, and staff
Train, supervise, and complete hiring processes for student and non‑student temporary workers to assist patrons in Area 49 spaces and services
Maintain all aspects of Area 49’s digital content creation process, online and social media presence, and accessibility of digital content across platforms
Stay informed on multimedia technology trends and best practices
Research and suggest innovative technology purchases for Area 49
Research multimedia software and technology for instruction and training
Order, catalog, and organize new technology purchases; ingest technology into library catalog for discoverability
Conduct yearly inventory/audit of Area 49 technology
Conduct technology showcases for UNC Charlotte students, faculty, and staff
Create and manage a library of digital resources for Area 49 technology
Develop and maintain training modules and support materials
Perform other duties as assigned
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
Familiarity with Final Cut Pro, iMovie, OBS Studio, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Audition
Familiarity with Matterport 3D spatial‑mapping hardware and software
Experience working in a library or similar public service point
Experience providing excellent customer service in a library atmosphere
