Our client is seeking an experienced Sr Mechanical Designer who is a strong problem solver with diverse technical capabilities and solid design and geometrical tolerance fundamentals. This role supports engineering, design, analysis, product definition, and the product build process. The individual must also be able to delegate tasks to Designers, Drafters, and Checkers from conceptual design through production release. Utilizing computer-aided design tools to design components, systems, portions of systems, and to modify existing designs for production improvements. Supporting mechanical and electro-mechanical hardware development from conceptual layout through detailed design. Conducting design trade studies, volume packaging, and tolerance analysis. Planning, executing, developing, releasing, and controlling product definition data including engineering models and drawings. Taking ownership of design specifications and ensuring final product compliance. Working closely with technicians to support prototype hardware and test equipment builds. Collaborating with broader engineering teams and communicating across functional groups. Creating, maintaining, and updating engineering records and files as required. Performing Configuration Change Orders and Change Actions. Working on SAP or similar closed programs in secure on-site areas. Performing other related duties as assigned. Skills Required Associate degree in an engineering sciences field or equivalent work experience Ten or more years of Mechanical Design Drafting experience, including at least three years in a Senior role Familiarity with the comprehensive design process including conceptual development, physical design, procurement support, and manufacturing support Knowledge of standard manufacturing practices for effective component and assembly fabrication Ability to perform in a fast-paced, evolving environment Strong understanding of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 Proficiency with PTC CREO Parametric and file management systems Active DoD Security Clearance Experience supporting full lifecycle design activities and manufacturing processes Strong GD&T background in accordance with ASME Y14.5 Benefits: Health Insurance 401k Pay Range: $59.00 - $64.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications) By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
