The Corporate Communications Specialist is responsible for managing the organization's corporate communication and supporting related public relations initiatives that contribute to Maimonides' image and reputation management. This role fills a critical function in ensuring that key information and messages about leadership priorities, programs, and perspectives are conveyed effectively to a broad range of stakeholders including employees, affiliated physicians, Board of Trustees, strategic partners, policymakers, community leaders, patients, and the public at large. The Corporate Communications Specialist works with colleagues across departments to develop strategic messages and devise and execute an effective distribution plan.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Ability to receive, distill and communicate essential information from department leadership and other team members via various communication forums/channels Fundamental understanding of strategic communications, public relations/image management principles and practices Outstanding writing, editing and interpersonal skills Ability to multi-task, prioritize and deliver against tight deadlines Excellent project management and time management skills Ability to demonstrate initiative and problem-solve when needed Responsibilities

Writes executive communications, including but not limited to talking points for internal and external events and President's Letters and E-Communications to internal and external audiences Generates content reflecting key messages organizational activities or priorities, adapts content for different audiences, manages editing and approval process efficiently, and works with colleagues to devise and implement tactics for effectively reaching different stakeholders Prepares Board Reports that summarize Marketing and Communications programs, projects and updates in advance of Board Meetings Manages Internal Communications Calendar for projects including Maimonides "Town Hall" (prepare executive needs including agenda development, questions and production support); executive messages; a weekly employee newsletter; and screensavers. Provides ongoing public and media relation support including drafting social posts, media advisories, and press releases, and attending events as needed. Collaborates with Directors and Marketing and Communications colleagues to secure patient stories for promotion, including patient outreach/interviews and management of deliverables Provides support to content/social media specialists to support communication/celebration of internal workforce events such as professional recognition and DEI days Provides direction, guidance and support to photographers, videographers, creative to ensure photos, videos, visuals/slides reflect best possible execution to support image. Project manages film projects as needed. Engages consistently with Marketing partners to ensure understanding of brand and volume driving strategies and to collaborate and contribute ideas to advance PR

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree required

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in corporate/strategic communications, copywriting, press relations, or a similar field; healthcare experience preferred.

Skills:

Microsoft Office proficiency

Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage projects to completion

Outstanding written communications and interpersonal skills

Ability to critically assess practices and programs to continuously improve

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and fluid

Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position

Pay Range
