We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Stagehand to join our production team.
This hands‑on role is essential for the technical and physical support of our daily productions. You will be instrumental in ensuring the studio environment and occasionally remote locations – from lighting to scenic elements – is safe, functional, and compelling for every production.

What You’ll Do
Scene Management: Execute the placement and operation of studio scenes and structures, including the setup and take down of sets, backdrops, and furniture according to daily production needs.
Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repair on scenic elements, structures, and studio equipment.
Lighting Operation: Assist with the placement and operation of studio lighting, including hanging, focusing, and maintaining various lighting devices.
Tool Competence: Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and competently for set construction, modification, and repair.
Technical Communication: Maintain proficiency with computers, email, and be comfortable with training on new systems related to studio operations and scheduling.
Logistics & Travel: Occasional travel between locations may be required. Must be able to deliver and pick up materials offsite as needed to support productions.
Work effectively and efficiently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Required Qualifications & Physical Demands
Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) is required. A 2‑4 year college/technical degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of recent, relevant experience as a stagehand, set technician, or similar role in a live broadcast, theatrical, or production environment.
Driving: Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid local driver’s license (DC, MD, VA), be able to drive, and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and insurance eligibility.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Physical dexterity required, including the ability to go up and down stairs, climb ladders, bend, squat/crouch, kneel, and twist.
FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays, and in the case of breaking news. Candidate will also be required to join the I.A.T.S.E Local 819 union. This position will be for no less than two weeks, with no end date determined at this time.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $32.16 per hour.

Live Performance & Ad‑Lib: Master the art of the unscripted moment, excelling in live, extended coverage of breaking news and conducting sharp, spontaneous interviews with newsmakers.
Source Development: Proactively develop and maintain powerful source networks to generate original, attention‑grabbing content.
Multiplatform Engagement: Utilize all digital and social media channels to attract, inform, and engage the audience, driving conversations and viewer traffic back to the station.
Collaborate for Impact: Work seamlessly with producers, editors, and photographers to ensure captivating, accurate news delivery that connects with viewers and drives ratings.
What We’re Looking For
We are searching for a curious, innovative, and pressure‑tested professional with an engaging personality who is driven to dominate and be the first to report local breaking news.
Experience & Education: A minimum 3‑5 years of on‑air anchoring and reporting in a top 20 major market or comparable market scale. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field required.
News Judgment: Superior news judgment and a strong, current understanding of local, national, and world events.
Technical Acumen: Demonstrated expertise with modern newsroom computer systems, live technology, and non‑linear editing tools.
Digital Dominance & Brand Building: A demonstrated track record of using various digital platforms (social media, website, streaming) not just for news consumption, but for proactive news‑breaking, building a community, and elevating the station’s brand and personal digital profile.
Pressure‑Tested: Proven ability to work accurately, efficiently, and calmly under extreme pressure and strict, often fluid, deadlines.

Candidates will also be required to join the SAG‑AFTRA Washington‑Mid Atlantic Local union for the on‑air news unit.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $60.10‑62.50 per hour. Job Summary
Generate Revenue by selling a suite of cutting‑edge digital advertising solutions across our key brands, including FLX, FOX Local, TUBI, FOX Sports, and FOXNEWS.com, as well as unique multi‑screen promotional sponsorships.
Drive Business Growth by developing and implementing sales strategies (independently and with sales management) to consistently grow revenue and exceed sales goals.
Cultivate Client Relationships by meeting and communicating regularly with clients and agencies to maintain strong partnerships and expedite the closing process.
Lead the Sales Process by presenting, negotiating, and developing unique and valuable advertising packages to new and existing clients.
Manage Accounts efficiently, including processing transactional business, developing advertising schedules with station personnel, and ensuring the timely completion of all administrative tasks.

What We’re Looking For
Experience & Education: A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in Video Advertising Business Development and Sales. A college degree is preferred.
Business Acumen: Digital ad sales savvy with a proven track record of developing new business and achieving measurable success in the digital space.
Client & Sales Skills: A skilled negotiator and motivator capable of managing complex deals and driving accounts from lead to close.
Communication & Technology: Possesses excellent organizational, time management, written & verbal communication skills. Must be proficient with computers and cloud‑based communication applications. Experience with WideOrbit is a plus.
Forecasting: Ability to accurately forecast revenue based on pipelines and pending deals.
