Broadcast Television. The Art Director is responsible for leading the visual style, direction and creation of graphic content across multiple company national TV networks and local TV stations. Motion, graphic and type design for television, plus design for print, out of home and digital advertising, collateral materials, activations and physical materials, branded merchandise and more. This role leads and mentors the TV network design teams, oversees artistic concepts and ensures all visual elements align with brand expression and style guidelines, project goals and company business objectives.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of designers while working with other creative professionals to execute projects effectively.
Develop and maintain creative that resonates with the target audience across broadcast, print and digital platforms, for both national TV networks and local broadcast TV stations.
Maintain visual brand look and style guide continuity across TV networks, with each network having its own distinct visual style and execution.
Oversee the design process from concept to completion, ensuring that all visual elements align with the project goals and brand standards.
Mentor and lead designers to help assure their creative work meets brand expectations and projects are delivered on deadline.
Collaborate and work closely with other departments to ensure cohesive messaging and branding.
Develop and design selected projects as a working designer, in addition to leading the staff of other designers.
Ensure that all projects delivered meet brand and quality standards and are delivered on deadline.

Requirements
Education: A bachelor’s degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience in a creative role, preferably broadcast television with experience in entertainment network graphic design and/or major market local news graphics, with a strong professional portfolio showcasing previous high‑quality work and successful projects.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with hands‑on arts and craft skills would be beneficial for marketing events and custom promotional items. Ability to work on multiple assignments and meet delivery schedules.
Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a diverse design team and collaborate with other departments. Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain creative brand standards and consistently meet deadlines.
Location: In office and hybrid role based in Chicago, Illinois.
The pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $160,000–$185,000 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
