Position Summary The Assistant Editor for Vertical Drama plays a critical role in supporting the post production team through every phase of the editorial and finishing process. This position combines strong technical skills with creative support — preparing projects for edit, managing media, assisting with color and sound, and ensuring smooth final delivery. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, with a solid understanding of post workflows, finishing standards, and current AI tools used for editing and subtitling in digital-first storytelling. Key Responsibilities Support Lead and Junior Editors in all aspects of post production for vertical drama series. Ingest, sync, and organize footage; maintain project file structures and metadata. Prep sequences for editorial, color, sound mix, and VFX. Perform assembly edits, temp color adjustments, and basic audio leveling. Serve as Finishing Assistant Editor, responsible for final conforms, QC, and delivery prep. Assist with exporting final masters, applying LUTs, embedding subtitles, and verifying final deliverables meet platform specs. Collaborate with post sound and color teams to ensure accurate handoffs and version tracking. Maintain organized archives and backups of projects and assets. Utilize AI tools for workflow efficiency — including smart sync, transcription, caption generation, and creative assists. Stay current with trends in vertical content, editing techniques, and emerging AI-driven post production tools. Support the team in troubleshooting post-related issues and meeting tight deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). 1–2 years of experience in post production, preferably in vertical content. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, experience with After Effects, or Pro Tools a plus. Basic knowledge of post color, sound, and the finishing process. Familiarity with AI‑powered editing tools (e.g., Runway, Descript, Pika, or Adobe Sensei) for automation, subtitles, and post optimization. Strong technical understanding of codecs, file formats, color spaces, and delivery standards. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Detail‑oriented, collaborative, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Skills Experience as a finishing or assistant editor. Knowledge of media delivery specs and compression best practices. Comfort using AI tools for captioning, transcription, and workflow automation. Able to work on multiple projects at once.
