Job Objective HSMAI Americas is seeking a strategic, results-driven Marketing Director to lead marketing initiatives that drive membership growth, event participation, and brand awareness. This role is ideal for a self-starter with strong digital skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for hospitality and association work. The Marketing Director will shape and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with HSMAI’s mission to fuel sales, inspire marketing, distribution, and optimize revenue for hospitality professionals. They will serve as the brand steward for HSMAI Americas, ensuring consistency and alignment across all touchpoints while fostering collaboration with internal teams, volunteer leaders, external vendors, and HSMAI global regions. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Brand Stewardship Develop and oversee execution of an integrated marketing strategy that supports HSMAI’s strategic goals and elevates its brand across the Americas and globally. Serve as HSMAI’s brand champion, ensuring visual and verbal consistency across all communications and campaigns. Campaign Execution & Content Strategy Plan, coordinate, and implement multi‑channel marketing campaigns across email, web, social media, and digital advertising. Oversee content creation and editorial calendars; manage the development of promotional copy, graphics, and multimedia in collaboration with designers, writers, and vendors. Ensure alignment of content strategy with organizational goals and audience needs. Digital Marketing & Analytics Oversee HSMAI’s digital presence, including the website, email marketing, and social media platforms. Monitor and analyze campaign performance and web traffic using tools like Google Analytics and CRM Glue Up; provide regular reporting and recommend optimizations. Ensure consistent application of SEO, generative AI, and digital best practices. Membership, Event & Product Marketing Drive promotional efforts that support membership recruitment and retention, event attendance, and participation in HSMAI certifications and education programs. Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling messaging and ensure effective promotion across member segments. Public Relations & Media Coordination Manage relationships with PR agencies and coordinate outreach with journalists, media partners, and influencers. Support PR activities onsite at major events, including interviews, photography, and press engagement. Collaboration & Volunteer Engagement Partner with HSMAI program managers, chapters, and regional teams (Europe, APAC, Middle East) to foster global brand alignment. Support volunteer leaders and advisory boards by amplifying their initiatives through HSMAI marketing channels. Encourage community‑generated content and integrate it into HSMAI’s broader content strategy. Operations & Team Management Manage timelines, deliverables, and budgets for all marketing projects. Oversee vendor relationships and contract management (designers, writers, digital tools). Use project management tools to ensure on‑time, high‑quality execution. All other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field. 5+ years of professional marketing experience, preferably in associations or the hospitality sector. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic marketing and content plans. Strong digital marketing expertise, including email, SEO, social media, and website management. Excellent writing, editing, organizational, and project management skills. Proficiency with marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Rasa, Smartsheet, Google Analytics, and social media scheduling tools. Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities. Professional and Leadership Competencies Experience engaging with volunteer leaders and cross‑functional teams. Specific Technical Skills Microsoft Office suite. Other Requirements Ability to travel up to 25% – both domestically and internationally – to attend industry and association meetings and events.
