Summary Of Job Duties
The Library Graduate Assistant for Experiential Learning will support instruction, research services, and the promotion of the library’s experiential learning spaces and resources. You will work closely with the Experiential Learning Librarian to develop and deliver instruction sessions, help faculty and students apply maker, information, and media literacies within Kolb’s experiential learning cycle framework, and assist with creative technologies that support teaching, learning, and research. In addition, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of colleagues to provide excellent service to patrons, answer research questions, help with special events, and explore opportunities that contribute to your professional development.
Responsibilities
- Design and conduct experiential learning instruction sessions for faculty and students.
- Develop and maintain experiential learning instruction materials, learning outcomes, and assessments.
- Assist patrons with research questions and provide training on creative technologies.
- Participate in special events and contribute to outreach activities that promote experiential learning services.
- Maintain reliable in‑person attendance and adapt to a flexible schedule.
- Build and sustain positive professional relationships with faculty, staff, and students across the campus.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications- Enrollment in the Graduate School at the University of Arkansas.
- Experience with computer technologies (data entry, spreadsheets, word processing, web page maintenance).
- Demonstrated spoken English proficiency if native language is not English (see detailed requirements).
- Experience with creative and maker technologies (e.g., audiovisual recording, 3D printing, virtual/augmented reality).
- Instructional design, curriculum planning, or program development experience.
- Experience using academic library resources for research.
- Experience developing outreach activities to promote a program or service.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for working with a diverse clientele and a library team.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse researcher populations and a variety of information resources.

Graduate students are subject to background checks.
Salary Information
- Master’s Students: $19,260
- Doctoral Students: $23,100
- Plus waiver of tuition (but not fees)
