NVI, LLC is seeking an experienced and solutions-driven Director of Quality and Technical Services to join our team. This full‑time leadership role operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and is based out of our Corporate Office in Gray, Louisiana. Position Overview
The Director of Quality & Technical Services – Nondestructive Testing (NDT) provides strategic leadership and oversight for all quality assurance and control activities within the company’s NDT operations. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of inspection integrity, compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Director ensures all NDT programs, personnel, and processes adhere to applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement across all service lines.
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the Quality Department supporting NDT operations across all divisions and locations.
- Develop and execute quality management strategies that align with corporate goals and internal, industry standards.
- Foster a culture of integrity, safety, and technical excellence within the quality and inspection teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison with customers, regulatory agencies, and accreditation bodies on quality matters.
Quality System & Compliance
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ASNT, ISO 9001, ASME, API, DNV, Lloyds, and other relevant standards.
- Ensure compliance with all standards and procedures for alignment with commercial initiatives and goals (ASNT SNT‑TC‑1A, CP‑189, ASTM, AWS, API, etc.).
- Manage certification and audit programs including internal audits, supplier evaluations, and customer audits.
- Maintain documentation, records, and traceability for all inspection activities and certifications.
Technical Oversight, Training & Mentorship
- Provide expert‑level technical guidance on all NDT methods including RT, UT, MT, PT, VT, ET and advanced techniques (PAUT, TOFD, DR, CR, etc.).
- Oversee procedure development, review, and approval.
- Verify that all equipment calibration, maintenance, and verification programs are properly executed.
- Support the qualification and certification of NDT personnel per written practice, applicable standards and internal craft development objectives.
- Oversee NDT Level III personnel and provide technical mentorship to Level I and II technicians.
- Ensure ongoing training and professional development programs for inspection personnel.
- Support workforce competency assessments and recertification program.
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and monitor KPIs for quality performance and process improvement.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action programs.
- Drive standardization of quality practices across all business units.
- Support operational teams in implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience in nondestructive testing, with at least 5 years in a quality manager or leadership role.
- Professional certification focused on quality management processes, such as ISO 9001 or Six Sigma.
- Current or previous ASNT NDT Level III certifications in multiple methods.
- Required to pass a federal background check and Drug/Alcohol policies/procedures.
- Required to pass motor vehicle history evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree concentrated within the relevant field.
- Active ASNT/ACCP/9712 Level III certification in Radiography Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Eddy Current Testing and Visual Testing.
- Advanced degree in relevant field.
- Previous experience in this position.
