Water Design-Build Manager – Jacobs
Join Jacobs as a Water Design-Build Manager. This role leads the execution of large, complex water and wastewater projects through innovative delivery models such as Design‑Build, Progressive Design‑Build, and PPP. It offers a high‑impact leadership position within a rapidly expanding practice, influencing major infrastructure programs and driving meaningful change in communities across the country.
Base Pay Range $154,700.00/yr – $241,750.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Lead multi‑disciplinary design teams across multiple offices to deliver high‑quality, integrated solutions.
Build strong relationships with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and success.
Manage project performance through scheduling, earned value analysis, and cost control.
Oversee contract execution, team utilization, and project profitability.
Represent Jacobs in client meetings, public forums, and industry presentations.
Support business development efforts and contribute to the growth of our national Design‑Build practice.
Ensure overall quality and coordination of the work performed, client interface, utilization of staff, reputation of the team and Jacobs, contract management, billing collection, and control of project profitability.
Establish work plans, staffing, and recruitment for each project phase.
Direct and coordinate activities of Project Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Develop, review, and confirm financial and delivery schedules for design and construction across all disciplines.
Ensure compliance with contract agreements and cost control to retain approved designs within budget restraints.
Lead, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate large‑scope, complex projects.
Carry out other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
15+ years of experience managing complex multi‑discipline water infrastructure projects—Design‑Build, Progressive Design‑Build, and/or PPP—as a Design Manager.
Collaborative mindset and ability to lead diverse teams in high‑intensity settings.
Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering impactful solutions.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration.
