Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated
Structural Designer 1
with up to 5 years of experience in heavy industrial or power plant projects. The ideal candidate will support the design and detailing of structural steel and reinforced concrete components, review vendor shop drawings, and prepare material takeoffs. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals seeking hands-on project experience in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:
Create design and fabrication drawings for structural steel and reinforced concrete
Assist in developing conceptual structural designs
Review vendor shop fabrication drawings for compliance with project specifications
Prepare and verify material takeoffs
Collaborate closely with design engineers, clients, and vendors to ensure design accuracy and constructability
Comply with company drafting standards and processes
Required Skills & Qualifications:
0–5 years of structural design experience in heavy industrial or power plant environments
Proficiency with
AutoCAD
required
Strong background in steel and/or concrete detailing preferred
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners
Must live within 1 hour of The Energy Center
Availability to work
onsite for the first two weeks
for setup, training, and team integration
