REQ-38199Nexstar Media Group is seeking a dynamic and creative **Special Projects Producer** to join a team focused on developing major content projects across the group.
This role is instrumental in executing company-wide initiatives across local broadcast and digital platforms. We’re looking for a visionary storyteller with strong journalistic instincts, a passion for compelling content, and the ability to engage diverse audiences.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and collaborates effectively across departments. This role involves developing original ideas, researching storylines, producing both short and long-form video content, and creating opportunities for local markets to customize material. Flexibility in scheduling and travel—both planned and spontaneous—is essential.Key Responsibilities* Coordinate calendars and timelines for multiple projects with precision and attention to detail.* Collaborate across departments including news, digital, promotions, operations, and production.* Write, produce, and edit content for broadcast, Connected TV (CTV), and digital platforms.* Contribute to editorial planning for large-scale initiatives and breaking news coverage.* Oversee post-production to ensure accuracy and quality.* Travel as needed to support live events and on-location production.* Communicate project opportunities and updates across Nexstar operations.* Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Skills* Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.* Minimum of two years’ experience in news operations.* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.* Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate across teams.* Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.* Familiarity with modern television production technology.* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.* Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts.* Must be based in or willing to relocate to a Nexstar market with a local newsroom supporting all dayparts.* Physical presence in a Nexstar facility is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
