One of the first FAST platforms, Samsung TV Plus now offers more than 400 channels in the U.S. and nearly 5,000 channels globally, along with thousands of shows and movies on-demand. FAST is the fastest-growing video segment among consumers and FAST ad spend is expected to surpass that of Broadcast/Cable (combined) and SVOD within the next three years. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of the exploding and ever-evolving ad supported streaming space and play a key role in driving the growth of the TV Plus business. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing and automation of playout/rebroadcasting of FAST video content. This position will work on a small team as an individual contributor for coding, debugging, and deploying API-driven backend services. Main Responsibilities Conduct engineering activities, projects, research, and operational tests in conformance to functional specifications, design requirements, operational capacities, and customer performance expectations. Debug production issues raised by customers and customer support teams, isolate the cause, and work towards a fix. Participate in meetings with other staff members to evaluate, plan, and troubleshoot; and to ensure proper interface between software, systems, and operational performance. Day to day interfacing with content ops debugging and developing solutions to on-board content partner’s media. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Designing and building scalable, production-ready, robust systems and services. Collaborate with stakeholders and teams across multiple time zones to deliver on exciting, globally viewed streaming content. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in streaming technology.
