This position offers a competitive salary range of $54,000 to $59,000, depending on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Are you a compassionate professional eager to make a significant impact in the lives of young children and their families? Thom Child & Family Services, located in Worcester, MA, is on the lookout for a dedicated Music Therapist to enhance our team.

As an Early Intervention Music Therapist, you will provide vital home and community services to infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years) who are at risk for or experiencing developmental delays. You will work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to deliver individualized and meaningful services that align with family priorities, needs, culture, and values, all grounded in evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in multidisciplinary team assessments of clients' developmental status.
  • Provide direct, developmentally appropriate services and activities for children 0-3 years old and their families.
  • Contribute to the creation of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP) by identifying specific goals and strategies for child development.
  • Document progress through notes, reports, assessments, and other correspondence.
  • Deliver individual and group interventions aimed at supporting children at risk of or experiencing delays in cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication skills.
  • Assess strengths, concerns, and progress of both families and children.
  • Schedule and coordinate intervention plans for families on your caseload, ensuring compliance with all procedures and timelines.
  • Provide supportive professional assistance to families and facilitate positive parent-child interactions.

Position Requirements:

  • Degree and professional credentials/board certification as Registered Music Therapist
  • Understanding of family systems and early childhood development.
  • Ability to foster meaningful therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
  • Commitment to culturally competent and individualized service delivery.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Adherence to confidentiality and professional boundary standards.
  • Proficient computer and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural skills are a plus.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire.
  • Early Intervention Experience preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with children and families.
