As a Graphics/Plates Technician, you play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of can decoration processes by managing label preparation, ink systems, plate handling, and coordination with new paver suppliers. This position ensures graphic quality standards are met, supporting efficient label changeovers and print process ability. Competencies
Attention to Detail: Ensures precision in label setup, plate preparation, and ink verification to prevent production errors Technical Rigor: Applies in-depth understanding of graphic processes and specifications to maintain quality and consistency Problem-Solving: Identifies and resolves issues in graphic elements, inks, minimizing disruptions Time Management: Manages multiple label demands and tasks efficiently to maintain production schedules Team Collaboration: Works effectively with operators, engineers, suppliers, production planning and designers to ensure smooth graphic execution Continuous Improvement Mindset: Looks for ways to optimize label planning, reduce changeover time, and enhance graphic quality Communication: Clearly communicates technical information and quality concerns across functions and with external vendors Ownership and Accountability: Takes responsibility for the integrity of graphic components Skills
Printing Process Knowledge: Familiar with plate registration, water base inks, and other can decoration techniques Plate Handling: Skilled in washing, inspecting, preparing, and managing printing plates Ink Systems Management: Capable of verifying ink specifications and formulation Colour Matching and Measurement: Able to perform colour control using tools like spectrophotometers or densitometers Label Changeover Impact: Knows how to plan the impact of label transitions on production lines Internal Supplier Quality Assurance: Experienced in conducting trials and quality evaluations of plate suppliers (as applicable) Plate Making Equipment: Operate the plate making equipment with efficiency and quality (as applicable) Documentation and Traceability: Maintains accurate records of artwork versions, ink batches, plate usage, and qualification reports Accountabilities
Prepare artwork and labels to ensure accuracy and production readiness Maintain printing plates, ensuring they are clean, inspected, and available for use Execute label changeovers planning, minimizing downtime and ensuring correct setup Qualify internal plates supplier's trough print trials and technical evaluations Document and track all graphic-related materials for traceability and compliance Identify and report graphic plate defects driving root cause analysis and corrective actions Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure alignment on graphic requirements Qualifications & Experience

Hiring Salary Range: $26.21/hr. This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
