Job Description We’re seeking a
Mold Designer
with strong
SolidWorks design experience
to create and maintain tooling, fixtures, and molds for polyurethane and plastic components. This position will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and sales to design and improve tooling used in production.
This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on
tooling or mold design experience
— not necessarily a degreed engineer — who enjoys working in a practical, team‑oriented manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design new molds, fixtures, and tooling using
SolidWorks CAD software .
Create detailed
engineering drawings , including
GD&T
and drafting standards.
Support manufacturing with tooling and design improvements.
Collaborate with estimating, sales, and production to ensure manufacturability and accuracy.
Maintain and update all design documentation and drawing files.
Assist in root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of SolidWorks design experience.
Strong product design and drafting skills.
Proficient in drawing standards and GD&T.
Experience in mold or tooling design for plastics, urethanes, or similar materials.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and process engineering concepts.
Knowledge of mold construction, materials, and processing techniques.
