Job Descriptions:
Corporate Events is a team of event professionals who use strategic project management and solutions-oriented customer service to plan best in class events that support the company’s key initiatives and corporate calendar. The primary responsibility of the Corporate Events Associate is to provide support to the team in planning and executing events.
This includes a wide range of activities, such as coordinating vendors, organizing logistics, managing budgets, communicating with key stakeholders, and assisting with event planning and execution. This role will also play a vital part in providing comprehensive support to the organization, focusing on administrative tasks and system maintenance.
Assist the team with assigned corporate events, following established policies and procedures to fulfill customer expectations
Collaborate with both internal and external vendors, including media, IT, Global Security, Corporate Aviation, and external vendors/venues such as the Corning Museum of Glass, to ensure the delivery of high-quality events
Help with travel arrangements, including hotel and ground transportation, and also act as a secondary planner for logistics
Support the team with administrative duties such as conference room management, printing event materials, creating event diagrams and layouts
Offer systems administration support to enhance the organization's operational effectiveness, utilizing the department's technology platforms
(i.e., SharePoint, room scheduling tool, Microsoft Office 365)
Collaborate with vendors to process orders, balance accounts, and aid in the submission of expense reports
Participate in the department's time tracking and metrics program to promote continuous enhancement in process efficiency and effectiveness
Uphold strict confidentiality of information obtained during the coordination and support of meeting and event logistics
Experience:
Minimum of 1+ years of event planning experience
Strong organizational and time-management skills
High-level of confidentiality
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong project management skills
Strong customer satisfaction focus
Skills:
Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to make decisions
Ability to adapt to constant change
High level of integrity
Must be able to professionally handle stressful situations and meet deadlines
Education:
Associate needed, Bachelor’s degree preferred
