Media & IT Help Desk Assistant

Purpose Statement The Media & IT Help Desk Assistant is responsible for glorifying God through excellence in technical production, audio‑visual support, and media operations across campus events and programs. This position provides hands‑on assistance for chapels, drama productions, and classroom technology, while helping students grow in their understanding of media and production as acts of service and worship.
Specific Responsibilities
Provide technical setup and support for weekly chapel services, drama productions, and other campus events
Operate and maintain audio, video, lighting, and projection systems, including ProPresenter and other production software
Support the integration and function of campus‑wide digital screens and displays, ensuring content runs smoothly
Assist in the creation and editing of photos and videos for school marketing and communications as needed
Collaborate with the Media Director to ensure excellence in all visual and technical presentations
Train and mentor students in media, sound, and lighting operations, fostering responsibility and teamwork during chapel and drama production
Provide technical assistance to faculty and staff during school events and assemblies
Help maintain media and production equipment, ensuring proper care, organization, and functionality
Serve as part of the tech team for special events and occasional after‑school productions as needed
Provide technical support to the teachers and students by managing the IT Help Desk ticketing system
Provide chromebook loaners to students when needed
Send for repair any chromebook that cannot be repaired in house
Provide equipment maintenance to all personal devices during the summer
Qualifications / Skills / Gifts
Be a committed Christian who is a member in good standing of a Bible‑believing church
Have a strong commitment to the Philosophy and Statement of Faith of First Baptist Church at Weston and to the Mission Statement of Weston Christian Academy
Have a teachable and humble spirit
Demonstrate experience with audio‑visual systems, including soundboards, lighting controls, and presentation software such as ProPresenter
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and calmly
Basic understanding of production principles, including stage setup, lighting, and sound design
Some experience in photography and photo/video editing software (such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or Premiere Pro)
Some experience with information technology help desk
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and volunteers
Enthusiastic, flexible, and positive attitude
Enjoys working with students and guiding them in hands‑on learning opportunities
Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with availability for some evening or special events as needed.
