Contract Furniture Designer / Space Planner

commercial furniture dealership, is seeking an experienced
Contract Furniture Designer / Space Planner
to support government, commercial, education, hospitality, and healthcare projects. This role focuses on space planning, furniture specification, technical drawings, and project support for our sales and project management teams. Pay is $45,000 - $72,000 per year depending on experience plus sign on bonus.

Key Responsibilities
Develop accurate
space plans , furniture layouts, and typicals for client projects.
Produce
2D/3D drawings , renderings, installation plans, and presentation materials.
Specify contract furniture solutions using
AutoCAD
and industry software ( Giza/CAP/Worksheet/CET/Spec
).
Prepare detailed
furniture specifications, pricing, and bill of materials
for quoting and proposals.
Collaborate with sales staff to ensure selections meet client needs, budgets, compliance requirements, and project timelines.
Validate specifications for accuracy prior to order entry and assist with order reviews.
Maintain project documentation using our project management CRM system ( TeamDesign
or
Khameleon ).
Support request-for-proposal (RFP) responses, client presentations, and installation coordination.
Work with sales staff, customer service, and installers to ensure complete and accurate project execution.
Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, and via email.
Manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
Skills Required
2–5 years of design experience in the commercial furniture industry
(dealership or A&D firm ).
Experience specifying furniture for
government, corporate, education, hospitality, and/or healthcare
environments.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD
(required).
Experience with
20-20 CAP Studio
(or
20-20 Giza ),
20-20 Worksheet
or experience with
CET
and
Spec
is highly.
Familiarity with furniture manufacturers, price lists, finishes, and specification standards.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; Microsoft Project is a plus.
Ability to learn and work within
TeamDesign
or
Khameleon
CRM (project management).
Valid driver’s license; ability to travel locally to client sites as needed.
Must pass background check, drug screening, and U.S. citizenship verification (U.S. Citizenship required).
