VP of Social Media & Influencer Marketing
French/West/Vaughan (FWV), one of the nation’s leading integrated marketing agencies, is seeking an accomplished VP of Social Media & Influencer Marketing leader to join our growing team in our downtown Raleigh, N.C. headquarters. In this role, you will manage a team of social media and influencer marketing specialists, working and integrating closely with all agency departments (creative, PR, integrated marketing, paid/digital, analytics). You’ll serve as a social media expert at the agency, and will be charged with creating breakthrough ideas, campaigns, strategies and tactics.
Responsibilities
Lead a group of social media and influencer marketing accounts to deliver exceptional results and client service.
Mentor and manage a team of social media professionals and ensure that client scopes and goals are being met, budgets are maintained and client relationships are strong.
Drive strategy for social media and influencer marketing plans and roadmaps, working cross-agency with other departments to develop cohesive and integrated multi‑channel marketing plans.
Build and hold strong relationships with senior client contacts.
Establish, grow and maintain relationships with influencers and content creators, and come armed with existing relationships and knowledge of the social media and influencer marketing universe.
Serve as a key decision‑maker and problem solver on social media and influencer‑related issues and challenges.
Suggest and implement new services, tools, and ideas to further elevate the agency’s social media and influencer marketing offerings.
Work across the agency to encourage and spearhead collaboration, knowledge sharing and best practices.
Travel for events and client meetings as needed, and provide live social media coverage when applicable.
Contribute to new business opportunities, pitch presentations and proactively seek new business opportunities both with prospects and existing clients.
Requirements
Proven track record of crafting effective social media strategies, success managing and mentoring a team and an impressive portfolio of content‑driven social media and influencer marketing campaigns.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, sharp writing and editing abilities and have the ability to tailor content and copy for different social media platforms.
Know how to multitask, prioritize, and juggle projects effectively.
While expertise is in social media and influencer marketing, have deep knowledge of how all marketing channels work together to deliver on client goals.
Leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of AI technologies that integrate with social media platforms.
Disruptive big‑idea thinker.
Intimate understanding and experience using all social media platforms both from an organic and paid media perspective.
Mastered the art of identifying the right influencers for a niche campaign or large‑scale partnership and successfully negotiating contracts.
Experienced in utilizing reporting tools including native platform insights.
Eye for visual aesthetics, including formatting and layout, and production of polished client deliverables.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree in marketing, journalism or related fields.
8‑10 years in marketing with a focus on social media.
Agency experience.
Proficiency in using (front and back end) Meta, X, TikTok, YouTube, Sprout Social, Canva and influencer marketing tools/platforms.
