Regional History Librarian Supervisor

Administrative and Supervisory Duties: Leading RHC operations, managing personnel (recruiting, hiring, performance, development), budget management, grant writing, and community engagement. Archival Management: Establishing policies for acquisition, storage, and preservation; appraising, arranging, describing, preserving, and cataloging collections (analog and digital); training staff; maintaining environmental and security measures; developing disaster plans; and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical guidelines. Collection Development and Access: Developing programs for acquiring and curating special collections, establishing access policies, providing reference services, and documenting collection provenance. Public History and Outreach: Promoting collections through exhibitions, programs, publications, and events; performing specialized historical research; coordinating with the Museum of Uintah County; acquiring artifacts and oral histories; and collaborating with educational institutions. Digital Archives Management: Managing born-digital materials, implementing digital preservation strategies, evaluating new technologies, and maintaining digital preservation documentation. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Archives Management, Museum Studies, Library Science, History, Information Science, or a related field with 3+ years of archives/records management experience and 1+ year of supervisory experience. OR a Master's Degree in a related field with a concentration in archives management and 1 year of archives/records management experience (supervisory experience preferred). Required knowledge includes historical preservation, archival management, digital preservation, national/international archival standards, and project management. Skills in internet-based research, local history, archival processing, budget management, grant writing, and public speaking are essential. Abilities include working independently, effective communication, staff leadership, managing multiple priorities, and adapting to technology. Special Qualifications
A valid Utah Driver’s License is required. Certification as an Archivist (CA) or Digital Archives Specialist (DAS) is strongly preferred, or the ability to obtain it within two years. Professional membership and experience with archival management software are also preferred. Compensation and Benefits
This full‑time exempt position offers $24.00 an hour, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
