Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented

Apparel Designer

with a strong background in

women’s and Misses categories

to join our retail design team. The ideal candidate has a passion for trend‑right fashion, an excellent eye for color and silhouette, and the technical skills to bring designs from concept to production. This role also requires a strong foundation in graphic design, as you’ll contribute to print development, textile artwork, and branding graphics that enhance our seasonal collections.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Concept Development:

Create original, on‑brand women’s and Misses apparel designs across multiple categories (tops, dresses, bottoms, outerwear, etc.).

Develop seasonal color palettes, mood boards, and design concepts aligned with brand direction and market trends.

Translate fashion trends into commercially viable products for the target customer.

Graphic & Print Design:

Design placement graphics, allover prints, and textile artwork for apparel.

Prepare and manipulate graphic files for production, ensuring print quality and color accuracy.

Collaborate with marketing and branding teams on hangtags, trims, and visual assets when needed.

Technical Design Collaboration:

Create detailed technical sketches and design specs using Adobe Illustrator and/or CAD tools.

Work closely with technical designers, product developers, and factories to ensure fit, construction, and design integrity are maintained.

Review samples and provide design comments throughout development and production cycles.

Market & Trend Research:

Conduct ongoing market research to identify emerging fashion, color, and fabric trends.

Shop the market and analyze competitive products to inform design decisions.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration:

Partner with merchandising, production, and sourcing teams to meet design timelines and margin targets.

Present seasonal concepts and final collections to leadership and cross‑functional partners.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or related field.

3–5 years of experience

designing women’s apparel (experience in Misses category preferred).

Strong graphic design skills; proficiency with

Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

required.

Knowledge of garment construction, fabrications, and fit.

Excellent sketching and CAD rendering skills.

Strong sense of color, print, and trend forecasting.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with overseas factories and tech packs.

Understanding of PLM systems.

Experience in a retail or private label brand environment.
