Position Purpose The Patient Navigator/Prior Authorization Specialist guides patients through the complexities of the healthcare system to ensure continuity of care both clinically and financially. The specialist secures insurance prior authorizations, collaborates with carriers, ensures referrals, serves as a clinical resource for scheduling and referral clerks, and supports nursing staff with communication boards.
Requirements
Education: Healthcare‑related certification or training required; Registered Medical Assistant or Nursing Degree required.
Licenses/Certificates: Certification as a Medical Assistant or license to practice professional nursing by the Texas Board of Nursing or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact; successful completion of AHA‑approved BLS courses on hire.
Experience: One (1) year outpatient clinic experience required; insurance prior authorization experience preferred.
