We are currently looking to add a Group Director to our growing team. The role is based in Germany and offers a great opportunity for an individual with a passion for life sciences to lead client strategy engagements and oversee project execution across different communication platforms, while driving new business opportunities.

What you’ll do

Manage multiple client engagements of varying sizes in a fast-paced environment.

Develop and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional relationship skills.

Develop high-level, persuasive communications plans to meet the client’s business objectives.

Counsel clients on how to best maximize visibility for corporate or brand milestones and engage relevant stakeholder groups via appropriate channels.

Lead implementation of client communications strategies and serve as the main day-to-day point of contact for clients.

Oversee operational efforts and be accountable for the financial performance of engagements through close management of budgets and team members.

Ensure the quality of the account team’s work is held to the highest standard and that all client requests are handled in a strategic, efficient and timely manner.

Partner with shared service leads to run and grow integrated business (earned media, social media/digital, creative), and to develop new business opportunities.

Directly supervise account staff and promote continuous learning and development to build a high performing culture.

What you should have

Experience working with clients within the life sciences industry.

Strong understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and the role of relevant stakeholders including policymakers, regulatory bodies, healthcare professionals and patient advocacy groups (both on European/EMEA level, as well as local German market level).

Strong understanding of the German regulatory and reimbursement processes.

Strong understanding of the European media landscape and strong relationships with German media outlets (both top tier and pharma trade media).

Understanding of the ever-changing digital landscape.

Experience in developing effective communications strategies to engage client stakeholders and drive behavior change.

Exceptional presentation skills — both verbal and written, formal and informal.

Highly organized, proactive and a solution-oriented thinker under pressure.

Project management experience, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and manage detailed budgets.

Supervisory skills, with ability to manage and cultivate junior staff and effectively collaborate with subcontractors.

Positive, team-oriented attitude.

Demonstrated experience developing direct reports and influence-managing matrixed teams.

Exceptional organizational skills leading to flawless execution of tactical plans.

Proficient in German and English (preferably native or near-native speaker).

8-10 years of industry experience.

Highly desired: scientific knowledge from an educational degree or through work on high-science business areas/accounts.
