Library & Academic Support Services - Student Worker Position Title: Library & Academic Support Services - Student Worker Department: Library Services The Library & Tutoring Services Student Assistant shelves, retrieves, and processes library materials. Greets visitors and provides user assistance at the service desk, performing library circulation duties and tutoring reception duties as well as basic computer and printing assistance. Coordinates with staff for technology malfunctions beyond the scope of the position. Executes data entry and other office tasks as assigned and may create promotional materials. Aids users in locating services and spaces throughout Library & Tutoring Services. Qualifications / Skills Required Attention to detail, punctuality, reliability, ability with numbers and decimals Customer service skills Ability to use computer software including Microsoft applications Communication skills, troubleshooting skills, and ability to multi‑task Work‑study eligible applicants preferred Physical Demands Requires reaching, standing, sitting, walking, carrying items, pushing carts, and repetitive motions for maintenance of library collections and operations. May require lifting up to 50 lbs frequently. Number of Hours Per Week: no more than 20, minimum of 4, usually 10-15 days per week. Flexible. Salary: $16.00 per hour.
