Senior Design Manager – Multi‑disciplinary Projects
Arcadis invites applications for the Senior Design Manager role, a hybrid leadership position open to candidates located anywhere in the USA. The role focuses on managing large, multidisciplinary design and engineering projects across transportation, data centers, commercial, retail, residential, defense, social‑infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
Role Description
As Senior Design Manager, you will coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, consultants, and client stakeholders to deliver projects that meet strategic and financial objectives. You will oversee design delivery, risk and change management, resource allocation, and client communication to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate internal and external teams to align project objectives and progress.
- Lead strategic initiatives, develop delivery strategies, and create fee projections to meet financial targets.
- Maintain financial and project controls, monitor schedules and budgets, and forecast as needed.
- Manage resource acquisition, deployment, and optimization for each project.
- Drive timely service delivery, technical and commercial outcomes, and client satisfaction.
- Implement design best practices, including risk, change, and digital technology integration.
- Develop project execution plans across a variety of design and engineering services.
- Deliver client presentations, written reports, and technical communications on scope, risk, and progress.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience leading large, multi‑disciplinary design‑engineered solutions and construction projects.
- Proven financial management background related to projects and client management.
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM engineered solutions.
- Certified Project Management (CPM) status within 30 days of hire; training will be provided.
- BA in Architecture or Engineering‑related field focused on the built environment.
- Preferred certifications: PE, RA, PMP.
- Practical sustainability experience, especially in mechanical systems.
- Experience implementing transformative urban solutions.
