3 months ago Be among the first 25 applicants Job Summary The Creative Arts Therapist is a direct service position responsible for providing creative arts therapy within the YWCA Eastern Union County PALS Program. The focus areas include individual and group therapy in dance/movement, drama, and art, along with intake and assessment, parent education, and documentation. All shelter staff will be trained to answer the hotline and cover backup shifts. Position Details Title: Creative Arts Therapist Department: PALS Supervisor: Program Director of PALS Effective Date: ASAP Status: Part Time Rate: $35/hour Qualifications and Experience Master's degree in creative arts therapy or equivalent Board Certified (ATR-BC) or eligible Prior counseling or clinical experience Experience with children, domestic violence, or trauma survivors preferred Bilingual/bicultural skills are a plus Excellent verbal, written, and public speaking skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Bilingual in Spanish Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation Flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends Key Responsibilities Intake & Assessment Conduct intake assessments and psychological tests for children in the program Create individualized treatment plans Collaborate with PALS staff to meet each child's needs Creative Arts Therapy Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions Incorporate safety planning and respectful behavior education into sessions Parent Education Educate parents about domestic violence dynamics and non-violent parenting strategies Promote family bonding through creative arts sessions Training & Supervision Attend staff and supervisory meetings Participate in required trainings Documentation Maintain accurate client records and reports Submit reports timely and professionally Additional Duties Attend meetings, trainings, and community events Coordinate with other YWCA programs Represent the agency externally and internally as needed Provide transportation if necessary Answer hotline and cover shelter shifts as trained This job description is a broad outline and may be amended as needed.
