Mechanical Designer – Build What You Design
Do you take pride in seeing your designs come to life on the shop floor? Our client is looking for a Mechanical Designer who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive into technical challenges. You’ll be part of a growing team that designs, builds, and improves mechanical systems for real-world applications.
If you like solving problems, working with other skilled professionals, and turning solid models into finished products, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Create accurate shop drawings, assembly models, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) that keep projects moving smoothly
Work closely with engineers, fabricators, and project managers to fine-tune designs for manufacturability and efficiency
Attend project and production meetings to review progress and resolve design issues
Occasionally visit job sites to verify measurements and support field reviews
Translate complex specs and ideas into practical, functional mechanical designs that perform
What You Bring
Minimum of an Associate degree in Mechanical Design or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong SolidWorks skills—you know how to build models that work in the real world
Experience with AutoCAD or Autodesk software a plus
Comfortable working with PDM (or other vault tools) to manage revisions and design data
Navisworks experience a plus
Solid understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes—you think like a builder, not just a drafter
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
