Purpose and Scope
Provides faculty and staff with high quality educational videos, which may include the production of faculty, staff, student, and guest speaker video presentations. General activities include but are not limited to creating, editing, and uploading video of subjects/events, creating animations for video projects, and coordinating pre-production schedules. Production involves the use of audio, visual, and editing equipment for internal audiences, but the product may also be used to promote the college to the community.
Essential Job Functions
Applies expanded skills related to analytical, technical, or an operational process
Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise
Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and adheres to quality guidelines
Works under a moderate degree of supervision
Tasks may include working with computers, drafting and compiling data or information through Microsoft and other data software, etc.
Produces, directs, and edits projects for the video and media department
Promotes collaborative projects
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, strong organizational skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of students from various socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds
Results-oriented and self-motivated person
Ability to work flexible hours
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Skills in audio/video production (writing, producing, shooting, and editing)
Physical Abilities
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule and Conditions
Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
Some events are held outdoors, and may require transporting equipment and supplies, and extended periods of time outdoors; Frequent interruptions with telephone and physical interruptions at all times throughout the day
Some evening and weekend work is required
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary
Hourly Pay Rate is $16.33
